Best of the Best 2013

best-of-the-best-vote

I love Best of the Best season at NaturallyCurly! It’s so exciting to look over our all the products our audience is using, and to realize that nearly all of them didn’t exist when we started.

It reminds me of when I was growing up, and products were divided by “Dry,” “Oily” and “Normal.” What was a curly girl to do? I wasn’t “Short and Sassy” or “Long & Silky” – two brands that came on the market in the 70s. There wasn’t one product specifically for curly hair. Not one! That’s so hard for me to fathom! It’s not like curly/coily/wavy women didn’t exist back then. We were just left to our own devices, trying to fit into an impossible mold.

So every year – during Best of the Best polling - it gets me downright giddy to votes flooding in for such a large variety of products by so many different brands, both large and small.  Puddings and soufflés and cream-gels created specifically for curls as well as products that work well, even though they weren’t designed only for texture.
